Businessman Themba Hlongwane Faces Fraud Charges at Botha Mine
Bindura, Mashonaland Central – Botha Mine has announced that its former chairperson, Themba Hlongwane, is no longer associated with the company and is facing serious criminal charges.

According to a report by Zimbabwe Now, Hlongwane and former General Manager Angela Mpofu-Chisvo have been suspended from their positions.
Mpofu-Chisvo’s suspension follows allegations of theft, fraud, and concealing a transaction involving over US$300,000.
In a statement, Botha Mine confirmed that Hlongwane is facing charges including fraud and theft, with case numbers Bindura Police (1)RRB 5874696 (2)CR104/07/24 (3)RRB5874661 (4)CR130/01/24, and kidnapping, case number Bindura Police RRB 6191451.
“We would like to categorically confirm that Hlongwane is no longer part of Botha Mine in any capacity and is currently facing serious criminal charges at various courts in the country,” the statement read.
The mine emphasised that Hlongwane has not won any legal cases against Botha Mine and warned the Bindura community against engaging in any transactions with him on behalf of the company.
Regarding Mpofu-Chisvo, the mine stated that she has been suspended without pay or benefits and is prohibited from entering Botha Mine premises.
Botha Mine reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and transparency and assured stakeholders of full cooperation with authorities during the ongoing investigations.
Leornard Rwambiwa has been appointed as the Interim Chairperson for the company.
