Man Jailed for Stealing Car in Mberengwa
A 46-year-old man from Mberengwa has been sentenced to four years in prison for stealing a car.

Hlangabeza Mabhula, also known as Benjamin Kutira and Joseph Moyo, was convicted of theft and possession of articles for criminal use by the Zvishavane Magistrates Court.
On 5 November 2024, Mabhula allegedly stole a Toyota Funcargo from outside the complainant’s bedroom window.
He reportedly forced open the car doors, started the vehicle without keys, and damaged the ignition in the process.
The complainant was awakened by the sound of the engine and saw Mabhula reversing the car. He went outside and managed to stop the car by throwing a stone behind the rear wheel.
Mabhula then got out of the car, armed with a kitchen knife, and charged towards the complainant, who fled and later apprehended Mabhula with the help of the public.
Police found Mabhula in possession of several items, including a balaclava, gloves, and various knives.
He was sentenced to six years in prison for stealing the car, with two years suspended.
He was also fined US$200 for possession of articles for criminal use. The items used in the crime were forfeited to the state.
