Kadoma Mayor Nigel Ruzario announced on Tuesday that a minimum of US$4 million is required to refurbish the town’s sporting facility, Rimuka Stadium, which is currently in a state of disrepair.

The renovations aim to bring the stadium up to the standards required by football authorities.

“Rimuka Stadium is in a dilapidated condition and needs extensive upgrades,” stated Ruzario during a tour of the facility in Mashonaland West. “We need about US$4 million to rebuild this stadium. We hope it will replicate The Heart Stadium in Harare or the ongoing developments at Chahwanda Stadium in Kwekwe.”

Yadah FC owner, Prophet Walter Magaya, has pledged his support by partnering with the Kadoma City Council to revamp the stadium.

“We are committed to working with the council to restore Rimuka Stadium and ensure it meets the required standards,” Magaya declared. “As the Heart Group, we are ready to begin renovations as early as tomorrow. We have the concept of a B Arena and a car park as espoused by FIFA regulations, which fits well with the existing infrastructure. I want to ensure Kadoma benefits just like other towns.”

This project will be Magaya’s fourth major stadium undertaking, following his Heart Stadium in Waterfalls, the ongoing Chahwanda Stadium construction in Kwekwe in partnership with Shepherd Chahwanda, and the upcoming Mucheke Stadium renovation.
