Teenager Sentenced to 15 Years for Repeatedly Raping Niece

A 19-year-old man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison by the Mutare Magistrates Court for repeatedly raping his 10-year-old niece in 2023. The survivor, who lost her parents, was living with her aunt.
On an unspecified date in 2023, the complainant returned home from school and found the accused alone at home. She went into the spare bedroom to change her clothes. The accused followed her into the room and ordered her to cover her face using clothes from the wardrobe, and she complied out of fear.
He then forcibly removed her pants, pushed her to the floor, and raped her. The complainant did not immediately report the incident due to fear and shame. The accused continued to sexually assault her on multiple occasions, taking advantage of the absence of her aunt.
