ZANU PF is working on a social media policy to regulate use and prevent abuse that might create divisions within the party.

This was announced at the Mount Darwin inter-district conference held this Saturday, where the party continued to inform supporters about the outcomes of the National People’s Conference held in Bulawayo late last year.

ZANU PF national political commissar Cde Munyaradzi Machacha urged members to guard against divisive social media influence, stating, “The party is creating a policy to distinguish official messages from those driven by opposition. We need to focus on nation-building and improving household incomes, rather than being in perpetual election mode.”

Cde Christopher Magomo, ZANU PF Mashonaland Central Province Deputy Chairman, informed attendees that the Bulawayo conference had approved the resolution for President Mnangagwa to stay in office until 2030. “Once a resolution is made at the conference, it becomes policy. Supporting President Mnangagwa’s tenure is essential; otherwise, you’re no longer part of the party,” he asserted.

The War Veterans and Youth Leagues praised empowerment programmes led by President Mnangagwa. Cde Emmerson Raradza, Youth League chairperson, said, “For the first time, we have a comprehensive empowerment programme for war veterans.” Cde Martin Kwainona, War Veterans League Chairperson, added, “The youth are thankful for the heifer and poultry distribution programmes initiated by the President.”

The Land Title Deeds Programme also received commendations from party supporters for its role in unlocking funding for agricultural operations.
