Having arrived in England on Sunday, the team wasted no time, kicking off training sessions in Leicester on Monday to fine-tune their skills. They will first face a First-Class Counties XI in a warm-up match from 15 to 18 May at Uptonsteel County Ground before taking on England.

Zimbabwe’s head coach, Justin Summons, expressed confidence in the squad’s preparations, saying:

“I think our preparation is excellent. We’ve got ten days ahead of us for good training.

The group is naturally energised, and they’re super excited to get going. It’s why you play the game—to test yourself against the best, and England are among the best in world cricket. This match will show us where we stand and what we need to improve.”

The match marks Zimbabwe’s first Test against England in over two decades, making it a historic occasion for both teams.

After their Trent Bridge showdown, Zimbabwe will head to Arundel, where they are scheduled to play South Africa in a four-day match from 3 to 6 June, further sharpening their competitive edge.
