Highlanders’ New Signings Doubtful For Greenfuel Clash

Bulawayo, Zimbabwe – Although Highlanders Football Club celebrated the lifting of their FIFA transfer ban earlier this week, it appears unlikely that any of their new signings will feature in their Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match against GreenFuel in Chisumbanje.

The club continues to grapple with player injuries and delays in processing the registration of new recruits.

In their opening matches this season, Highlanders faced mixed results: a 1-0 defeat to MWOS away and a 4-0 victory over Kwekwe United at Barbourfields Stadium last weekend.

Coach Kaindu addressed the challenges, saying:
“It’s rather difficult for us as coaches to disclose the names of players who are injured or carrying knocks, as we need to protect some of these lads. That’s why we tend to keep such matters confidential.

“We’re hopeful that some of our players who were on the injury list, along with those who sustained minor knocks in the previous game, will be fit for the match on Saturday.”

Kaindu refrained from discussing the specifics regarding new additions to the squad, noting that processes are still ongoing.

Spokesperson Comments
Club spokesperson Nozibelo Maphosa echoed this, explaining: “We will likely release details of our new signings, along with the entire squad for the season. The ban was lifted earlier this week, and we are still finalising the paperwork for some of the players.”

Expected New Recruits
Among the new players expected to strengthen the Highlanders’ line-up are:

  • Marlvern Hativagoni (Defender)
  • Never Rauzhi (Striker)
  • Tendai Muvuti (Winger)
  • Hubert Ncube (Midfielder)
  • Mbonisi Ncube (Striker)
