Judge Recuses Herself from Mutsvangwa Case
High Court judge Justice Esther Muremba has recused herself from the bail application of Neville Mutsvangwa, the son of Women’s Affairs minister Monica Mutsvangwa, who is accused of violating the Exchange Control Act. Muremba cited “personal reasons” for her decision.
The matter will now be referred to the Registrar of the High Court for judge allocation. In the meantime, Mutsvangwa will remain in custody.
Neville Mutsvangwa is facing charges of illegally dealing in foreign currency and money laundering. His bail application was set to be heard in the High Court, but will now be allocated to a new judge.
