Kuvimba CEO Departs for Mutapa Investment Fund
Simbarashe Chinyemba, Kuvimba Mining House (KMH) CEO, is reportedly leaving the company to become Chief Investment Officer at Mutapa Investment Fund, according to NewsDay Business.
Chinyemba, a distinguished fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (UK), took the helm at KMH in August 2021 after serving as the company’s Chief Operating Officer.
“He is leaving KMH for Mutapa as chief investment officer,” revealed a reliable source. The source added, “Under his leadership, defunct mines were resuscitated and turned into profitable ventures. These include Zimbabwe Alloys, Shamva and Sandawana, among others.”
Restructuring and Growth
Chinyemba’s tenure was marked by a focus on streamlining operations and decentralizing decision-making. This strategy led to the restructuring of KMH into four main clusters in 2023: gold, energy, platinum group minerals (PGMs), and bulk metals. This approach positioned the mining group for growth and resilience.
