Police in Mvurwi, Zimbabwe, are investigating a livestock theft that occurred on March 5, 2024, at approximately 11:30 PM. According to a police statement, six armed suspects attacked three farm workers at Tsapato Farm before stealing 36 goats and 11 sheep.

The statement details that the suspects, described as six males armed with sticks, assaulted the farm workers before making off with the livestock. The stolen animals were loaded into an unregistered white Mitsubishi vehicle, and the suspects fled the scene.

Authorities are appealing to the public for any information that may lead to the apprehension of the suspects. “Anyone with information to report” is urged to contact “any nearest police station,” the statement concludes.

This incident highlights the ongoing challenges faced by Zimbabwean farmers, who are sometimes targeted by criminals in rural areas. The successful recovery of the stolen livestock and the apprehension of the suspects will depend heavily on the cooperation of the public with the ongoing investigation.
