Madziwa FM Community Radio Roof Damaged by Whirlwind
MADZIWA – The roof of Madziwa FM Community Radio was swept away by a whirlwind causing extensive damage to the building.

The studio antenna was broken, electricals and other equipment were affected by the damage. Consequently, the station is currently unable to broadcast until these issues are resolved.
Gumbo Kennedy, the Board Secretary of Madziwa FM, confirmed the incident, stating, “We are glad that there was no damage to the broadcasting equipment as no debris fell inside the studio, and the wind was not accompanied by heavy rainfall.”

This event comes in the wake of heavy rains and stronger winds that have been battering Mashonaland Central recently.
Several households were destroyed by rains in Avondar, Bindura just a few weeks back, adding to the region’s woes.
Efforts are underway to repair the damages and resume broadcasting as soon as possible.
