ManLuckerz in First Show of the Year
Swedish-based musician Makandire Chezhira Chikutu a.k.a ManLuckerz is set to perform his first show of the year at Hotel Hellsten Stockholm, in August.
This follows an eight-month hiatus as the Zim Traditional Unity Band frontman was focusing on other facets of his art.
ManLuckerz is an acclaimed cultural writer and educator whose book ‘Flashback Identity’ – an advocacy of Zimbabwean cultural preservation- has received rave reviews. He also conducts workshops on African music, culture and tradition in Sweden, Europe, and the rest of the world.
Themed ‘Live Summer Music Vibes,’ the show will see ManLuckerz traditionally bringing the usual electric performance.
“We are busy rehearsing with the band to make sure we have a well-knit act”, said ManLuckerz.
“It’s great to get back on stage after a long time. I promise my fans a good time.
The Zim-Traditional Unity is a Sweden-based band that plays world music from Southern Africa, and Zimbabwe. The band led by ManLuckerz from Zimbabwe has members from Sweden, Mozambique, Uganda and Gambia-Senegal.
All musicians have great experiences from different music genres and band constellations.
The audience is assured to enjoy a captivating show as most of the songs are performed in Shona while ManLuckerz has a strong stage presence as he dances, manifesting emotions through strong facial expressions.
