The girl, who was abducted in Waterfalls, was last seen being taken away in a taxi. She was returned home by an elderly man named Solomon Tapera.
Relatives say the girl is still in shock and requires counselling. “We are relieved that she is back home, but she’s still traumatised,” a close relative told H-Metro.
“We haven’t been able to ask her about her ordeal yet, as she needs professional counselling to cope with the experience.”
The relative confirmed that the suspects involved in the abduction, including the taxi driver, have been arrested and are being held at Waterfalls Police Station.
Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, was unavailable for comment.
The family is now seeking counselling services to help the girl recover from her traumatic experience.
