Teen Convicted for Assaulting Sex Worker Over Change Dispute

An 18-year-old from Bindura, Mallon Muchopa, has been found guilty of assaulting a sex worker following a disagreement over change. Magistrate Tinashe Ndokera convicted Muchopa in a swift trial.
Muchopa will remain in custody until his sentencing on Monday. He requested the judge to order the sex worker, Victoria Mukaiwe, to return his $3 change.
He claimed he had paid her $5 for a short-time service that cost $2, but she refused to give him the change.
Prosecutor Carson Kundiona informed the court that on 27 January, Muchopa and Mukaiwe had an altercation at a bar in Chipadze. During the dispute, Muchopa struck Mukaiwe on the left cheek with a broken bottle.
