Two Men Drown During Fishing Trip in Chiweshe
A fishing trip ended in tragedy for two men from Chiweshe who drowned in Mwenje Dam on 19 November 2024.

Claudius Gunduza, 49, and Tinashe Motsi, 33, had gone fishing using nets but failed to return home the following day.
Their relative, David Gunduza, became concerned and went to search for them at the dam.
He discovered two pairs of shoes and a bag containing clothes belonging to the missing men.

He also spotted Claudius’s body floating in the water near the fishing nets.
Police were called to the scene and, with the help of villagers, retrieved Claudius’s body. However, Tinashe’s body remains missing.
The police sub-aqua unit has been called in to assist with the search.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted on Claudius’s body at Concession Hospital mortuary.
The cause of the drowning is still unknown, and investigations are ongoing.
