Unresolved Estate of Former CIO Deputy Director Muzariri Creates Controversy
Eleven years after the passing of Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) Deputy Director General Maynard Muzariri, the distribution of his estate remains unresolved. The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) recently intervened after discovering attempts to sell assets before finalization.
The dispute centers on accusations against the surviving spouse, Esther Muzariri, who allegedly attempted to sell property while outstanding issues persist. Disgruntled claimants, including Muzariri’s children, contend that Esther has withheld assets and failed to register all beneficiaries.
This ongoing saga raises questions about transparency and accountability in handling the estates of deceased government officials, particularly those suspected of amassing significant wealth.
