Valley Seeds has confirmed its full preparedness for the 2025–2026 farming season, having already delivered 60% of its seed allocation under the Presidential Input Programme (PIP), with the remaining consignments expected ahead of planting. The company says this positions them to fully support farmers across Zimbabwe with timely access to top-tier agricultural inputs.
Speaking on 20 June 2025, Managing Director Aluis Chareka reaffirmed the company’s strong operational backing and close coordination with government stakeholders. “We’re proud to be playing a key role in strengthening Zimbabwe’s food systems,” he said, adding that their partnership with the Ministries of Agriculture and Finance remained “solid and productive”.

Beyond seed supply, Valley Seeds has announced expanded investments in production and storage. A new storage shed is under construction at their Juru facility, while a traditional grains processing plant has been commissioned in Ruwa. The firm is also advancing plans for an oil and stock feed manufacturing plant to deepen integration along the seed value chain.
Commercial Director Tich Maponga said the business is firmly focused on increasing volumes of seed tailored specifically for Zimbabwean farmers. “This is not an export project. We’re targeting local needs, including a surge in vegetable seed varieties to match the country’s growing horticulture ambitions,” he noted.
Valley Seeds has over 30 years of experience supplying region-specific varieties of maize, sorghum, sunflower, sugar beans, soya beans and traditional grains such as millet, cowpeas and groundnuts. Its offering also includes herbicides, sprayers and pest control products like fall armyworm chemicals.
With nationwide delivery infrastructure and decades of in-field collaboration with Zimbabwean growers, the company says it has the capacity to deliver on both quality and quantity. It also owns Southern Cotton Pvt Ltd, further embedding its presence across Zimbabwe’s agricultural sector.
