Virginia Sibanda Passes Away Weeks After Seeking Funds for Treatment
Virginia Sibanda, widow of Zimbabwean football legend Rahman Gumbo, has passed away following a battle with cancer. She died in the early hours of Sunday at United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH), just weeks after appealing for financial assistance to cover medical bills for a life-saving operation.

Sibanda had been diagnosed with a brain tumour and required US$14,000 for surgery. Despite efforts to raise the funds, she was unable to secure the necessary medical support.
Her passing comes barely two years after the death of her husband, Rahman Gumbo, who suffered a suspected heart attack in Botswana in November 2023.
