The woman, whose name has been withheld to protect the victim’s identity, assisted an unidentified adult male in the assault.
The incident occurred in the afternoon after the child returned home from school.
According to court documents, the mother undressed the child in the presence of the male, who was seated on a bed.
She then instructed the child to lie down, whereupon the male assaulted her.
The mother reportedly witnessed the entire ordeal from a chair in the bedroom.
The crime was uncovered in April 2024 when the child, who was then residing with her grandmother, began experiencing urinary incontinence. Upon questioning, the child disclosed the assault and her mother’s involvement.
The court’s decision underscores the severity of the offence and the importance of protecting vulnerable children.
