Greendale Funeral Targeted in Armed Robbery: Mourners Lose Valuables
Harare police are investigating a robbery that occurred during a funeral service in Greendale on Wednesday, March 6th, 2024. Five unidentified male suspects reportedly attacked ten attendees.
According to Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, national police spokesperson, “the suspects, armed with a bolt cutter, catapults, and wooden sticks, assaulted the victims before ransacking the house.” Cash totalling US$800 and €300 was stolen from one mourner, along with 30 assorted gold and silver rings valued at US$41,800.
Police in Highlands are currently investigating the incident and no arrests have been made.
