The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) has confirmed the arrest of Profutunny Investments (Pvt) Ltd director Prosper Isaka on allegations of smuggling groceries into Zimbabwe and evading duty through misrepresentation at Plumtree Border Post.
ZACC said the allegations relate to the period between March and June 2024. Isaka is accused of importing grocery consignments from Boss Foods (Pvt) Ltd and declaring at Plumtree Border Post that he was importing agricultural equipment, allegedly to evade the payment of import duty.
The alleged act was reportedly carried out in connivance with two clearing agents, Nyasha Moyo and Blessing Kodzawako, as well as three revenue officers—Luckson Chikwara, James Dzimirwa and Tinotenda Allen Mawoyo—who, according to ZACC, are already on remand.

ZACC said the alleged misrepresentation prejudiced the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) by ZAR2,700,876.45 in lost import duty.
The arrest comes amid continued official focus on customs fraud and revenue leakages at border posts. While the case occurred at Plumtree, it is relevant nationally as Zimbabwe relies heavily on duty collection to fund public services, and because goods that enter through one border can quickly reach markets across provinces, including Mashonaland Central.
Bindura Eye will publish updates based on verified court proceedings and official statements as the matter progresses.
