Harare police arrest three, seize 10kg dagga; 1kg crystal meth recovered in Ardbennie

Police in Harare arrested three men on June 7, 2026, on allegations of unlawful possession of dagga after intercepting their vehicle along Simon Mazorodze Road and recovering 10 kilogrammes of the drug, authorities said.
The suspects were identified as Tafadzwa Zhuwao (29), Irvine Manyeza (26) and Tapiwa Zadzagomo (27). Police said the three were travelling in a Toyota Vitz when officers acted on received information and stopped the vehicle.
During the search, police reportedly recovered 10 kilogrammes of dagga concealed beneath the vehicle’s front seats.
In a separate development the same day, detectives from CID Drugs and Narcotics in Harare recovered one kilogramme of crystal meth which was allegedly concealed in the loading box of a disused truck in Ardbennie.
Police said investigations are underway to locate and arrest a suspect identified only as Abel in connection with the Ardbennie case.
Drug trafficking and drug abuse remain a concern in communities across Zimbabwe, including Mashonaland Central, where law enforcement and health officials continue to urge residents to report suspected dealing and support prevention efforts.
