Alexandra Sports Club have been crowned the inaugural National Premier League (NPL) Under-15 Boys champions after beating Amakhosi Cricket Club by six wickets in the final played at Goldridge College in Kwekwe.
Amakhosi were bowled out for 110 in 24 overs, with Alexandra’s attack led by Easa Butt, who took four wickets for 43 runs. Arnold Rwatiringa provided key support, claiming three for eight to keep the target within reach.
Chasing 111, Alexandra moved quickly to 111 for four in 17.5 overs to secure the trophy and seal a landmark first title in the new youth competition.
Reyaansh Maramreddy anchored the chase with the standout innings of the match, striking 39 from 16 balls. His knock included four sixes and three fours as Alexandra accelerated through the run chase.
The result hands Alexandra Sports Club a place in the record books as the first winners of the NPL Under-15 Boys tournament, which forms part of Zimbabwe Cricket’s development pathway aimed at strengthening grassroots cricket and preparing young players for the country’s elite domestic structures.
