Zambia has rejected a proposed United States health funding package worth more than US$1 billion, saying the conditions attached by Washington do not align with the country’s national interests.

In a statement referenced in reports on the draft agreement, Zambia’s health ministry said the proposal “did not align with the position and interests” of the country.
