Parents have been summoned to Mushumbi High 2 School in Mbire after a Form 4 pupil was recorded assaulting a fellow student in a video that has been circulating on social media.

The pupil, Stella Chikuse, is alleged to have been bullying other learners, with fellow students claiming she boasts of being “possessed” by a spirit which makes her powerful.

In the video, Chikuse is seen assaulting another pupil, Samantha, at a river bank. A student who spoke about the incident said learners did not intervene because they feared being attacked.

“We decided to record the assault considering that Stella has no boy or girl, including the older ones, who can stand up to her at fighting,” the student said. “She threatened everyone who wanted to restrain her and we kept a distance.”

The same student claimed Chikuse tells others she has “magical power”, alleging that even her mother has run away from her and that, on one occasion, she fought her mother.

School authorities have since instructed the parents of both pupils to attend a meeting today.

Some learners who say they have been victims of bullying claimed they have been afraid to report incidents to school authorities.

Both pupils are reported to live in Kapembere Village in Mbire, Mashonaland Central.
