Mashonaland Central Province has conducted monitoring visits to a range of infrastructure projects under Government’s second 100-day implementation cycle, which started on May 23, 2026 and is scheduled to end on August 30, 2026.
The visits were undertaken by a multi-agency team that included National and Provincial Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) officers from the Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC), Public Service Commission (PSC) inspectors, representatives from the Ministry of Finance, and officials from Public Works. REF engineers and contractors were also part of the assessment team.
According to the programme brief, the infrastructure and utilities cluster has the largest share of projects being tracked in the province. The projects are linked to Government performance management frameworks and are at different stages of implementation.
Officials said the monitoring programme is intended to accelerate delivery in line with the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1) and to track progress against set milestones during the May-to-August cycle.
Among projects highlighted during the visits is the construction of an extended maternity ward at Bindura General Hospital, which is aimed at strengthening health service capacity in the provincial capital.
The assessment team also reviewed work relating to Mvurwi Grain Marketing Board (GMB) digital silos, as part of ongoing infrastructure investments linked to grain handling and storage systems.
In the education sector, the monitoring team visited Tripple T Schools support projects meant to advance Education 5.0 in digital education, as Government institutions push for improved learning infrastructure and technology-based teaching methods.
Other projects cited in the programme brief include power and energy development at Kairezi Border Post, road construction initiatives, and the provision of housing and social amenities in different parts of the province.
Officials noted that the second 100-day cycle is being implemented countrywide from May 23 to August 30, 2026, with monitoring teams expected to continue visiting projects to assess progress and support the achievement of delivery targets.
