Mashonaland Central Province will host a two-day investment forum on 4 and 5 June 2026 as provincial leaders seek to attract capital, build partnerships and speed up economic transformation under Zimbabwe’s new National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2).
The 2026 Provincial Investment Dialogue will be held at Baradzanwa Cultural Centre in Mazowe under the theme, “Accelerating Rural Industrialisation and Modernisation for Sustainable Growth in Mashonaland Central Province.” The event is being hosted by the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Hon Christopher Magomo (MP).
In his call for participation, Magomo invited stakeholders from Zimbabwe and beyond to “be part of the future of Mashonaland Central Province”, describing the gathering as “a unique opportunity to explore high-impact projects and strategic partnerships” for policymakers, investors, academia, business leaders and development partners.
The investment dialogue comes soon after the launch of NDS2, the Government’s five-year blueprint for 2026 to 2030. NDS2 builds on the first National Development Strategy and is aimed at consolidating progress while addressing gaps as Zimbabwe works towards Vision 2030 of an upper-middle-income economy. Rural industrialisation, value addition, infrastructure development and sustainable growth are among the priorities highlighted in the strategy.

Provincial officials say Mashonaland Central is positioned to benefit from targeted investment, citing fertile agricultural land, mineral resources, its location and a growing tourism offering. The province also recorded notable investment project approvals in the first quarter of 2026, particularly in mining, according to recent Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency (ZIDA) data.
Organisers say the dialogue will centre on eight priority sectors: mining and mineral beneficiation; agriculture and agro-processing; housing and urban infrastructure; water and irrigation development; energy generation and renewable energy; manufacturing and industrial development; tourism and hospitality; and commercial and logistics centres.
Authorities say the targeted sectors are intended to drive local value addition, job creation, infrastructure expansion and inclusive growth, with an emphasis on moving rural communities beyond primary production into modernised, industrial economic activity.
The choice of Baradzanwa Cultural Centre as the venue is also being positioned as part of the province’s broader economic approach, linking cultural assets and heritage tourism with investment promotion.
The programme is expected to include project presentations, partnership engagements and policy discussions aimed at producing bankable deals. Provincial leaders say the forum will also serve as a practical example of devolution in action under the national development framework.
Organisers expect the June dialogue to attract several hundred participants, with the possibility of investment commitments aligned with both Mashonaland Central’s development priorities and national NDS2 targets for sustainable, rural-led growth.
